Privacy Policy
Effective April 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how OC PT Directory ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use orangecountyphysicaltherapy.com (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect limited information in three ways:
- Information you submit. When you use our submit-a-clinic, claim-your-listing, correction, or contact forms, we collect the information you provide, such as your name, email address, clinic name, and the text of your message.
- Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we collect basic server logs and analytics data, including IP address (truncated), browser type, device type, referrer URL, and pages visited.
- Cookies and similar technologies. We use minimal cookies required for site functionality. We use a privacy-respecting analytics tool that does not use cross-site tracking cookies.
OC PT Directory is not a Covered Entity or Business Associate under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). The Site is a directory and does not process patient bookings, billing, intake, or any other transaction that creates a HIPAA obligation. We do not knowingly collect protected health information ("PHI"). Do not submit patient names, medical records, dates of service, treatment notes, or other sensitive health details through any form, email, or other channel on the Site. If you do submit PHI despite this notice, we will delete it; the submission does not create a HIPAA-protected relationship.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to operate and improve the Site, respond to inquiries, process clinic submissions and claims, send transactional email related to your submissions, and protect against abuse. We do not sell your personal information.
3. How We Share Information
We share information only with service providers who help us operate the Site (for example, our hosting provider, email provider, and analytics provider), and only to the extent necessary for them to perform their services. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of OC PT Directory or others.
4. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to request access to, correction of, and deletion of the personal information we hold about you, and to limit or opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell your personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at support@orangecountyphysicaltherapy.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
5. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Site, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Server logs are retained for a short rolling window. Clinic-submitted content is retained for as long as the clinic remains listed, plus a reasonable period for recordkeeping.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information we collect. No method of transmission over the internet is fully secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time by posting an updated version on the Site and revising the "Effective" date. Your continued use of the Site after any revision constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
